6163 is a really well made, strong topped, square and thick with a big sound foot and correct leg structure all packaged up in a very moderate frame.   He is a very free striding indiviual, moves like a cat and strikes the ground well when on the move.  This is the kind of bull the breed and industry needs!  Breed leading EPD's in growth, maternal and carcass traits.  This rascal will become an outstanding breeding tool for the progressive cattleman. His dam, 66P, is a true power cow.  Coming from Larson's in Texas she has produced many great individuals and Royal Flush is icing on the cake.   66P and her offspring have produced many High sellers and Show Champions.  Including the very popular and High selling 6356D Donor prospect in the 2017 Shaw Cattle female sale.   You can't say enough about his power sire, 10Y, and the great maternal cattle that are in his pedigree.  10Y leads the breed in 13 economically important traits.  Deep, thick, big topped and bred to produce!  Granddam 73S sits at the top for maternal cow power.  She has produced many National show champions and working herd bulls across the nation.

674 is a very good 10Y son that has performed well from birth to yearling.  He is thick from end to end yet is clean and balanced in his front 1/3.  He is long sided and correct in his structure.  I really like the cow family that he comes from going back to the very good 111 cow.  Good udders and exceptional milk flow is the standard for this line.  He isn't going to jump right out and grab your eye when you first walk in the pen but as you study the bulls he rises to the top pretty quickly.   Dam has a son working for arimo ranches (ID)

Rubicon has posted the heaviest yearling wt. in the Hereford portion of the sale.  He is a big volume bull that is thick across the top and deep through the ribs.  He exhibits a lot of muscle in this rear quarter.   He has developed into the biggest ribbed and stoutest hipped bull in sale.  6107 has been one of my favorites since birth and he keeps getting better everyday.  When you walk in the pen he quickly grabs your eye and  it is pretty hard to look away.   His EPD's are impressive considering both his dam and sire are 14 years old.   I know this is a pretty bold statement but I believe you will drive the wheels off your truck and spend a whole lot more money this spring to buy a bull that is equal in quality as what Rubicon is no matter what the breed is!  His sire, Tundra 63N, is a breed icon known for producing mass and muscle in his offspring.  Many top donor cows in the breed today are his daughters or grandaughters.

Snake River is a potential lock for a calving ease bull while adding maternal value to a group of daughters.  Uniquely though, he is deep sided, muscularly built and attractive from the side.  He is a tick larger framed but matched to the right cows he can be an outstanding asset to your herd. As ranchers have brought the frame size down in their cow herd using Snake River on them will give your sale weights a huge boost.  When you add in his carcass predictions 6324 becomes a no brainer for the progressive cattleman.  Dam has daughters working for Big Valley (Ca) Orsten  (Mn), sons working for Blotter (ID).  6324's Dam has been designated as a Dam of Distinction for her outstanding production.

BEAR RIVER is conservatively marked, long bodied and correct in his skeleton.  He is long in his stride, tracks well and moves with ease.  Just as exciting his dam is a big, long, sound uddered S109 daughter that should support retaining 6104 daughters as replacements.  Based on the shape of his shoulders and genetic indicators, Bear River could be used on heifers with confidence.  Breed leading Calving ease, superior Maternal EPD's and Breed leading Carcass numbers along with above average growth numbers packaged in a moderate frame makes BEAR RIVER a sound investment for the future of any operation.  We have retained all daughters from his dam, she has sons working for Chapel Oaks (TX), Gilbert (ID).

Madison exemplifies the direction that we are trying to take our Hereford breeding program.  He is long spined, clean and shapely through his front 1/3, deep bodied with excellent spring to his ribs, thick and full of red meat in the rear 1/3 of his body.  All this packaged on a very correct skeleton structure with a very accecptable frame score.  He is very correct on his feet and a correct set to his legs.  Being dark red, smooth polled and is so very easy to be around.  His dam is a moderate framed, easy keeping cow with an ideal udder.  MADISON was the heaviest Hereford bull at 205 days and has continued to develop nicely in a pretty stout pen of bulls.  His genetic indicators places him in the top 15% of the breed in 6 very important catagories.  We have kept all the daughters of the 31X cow in our herd and they are making tremendous herd matrons.

644 is the first son we will sell out of our good Colyer walking herd bull.  Here is a very useful bull not to be overlooked by some of the older bulls in the pen.  When you start to analyse him you appreciate his thickness over his top, his level hip and how deep through his rib and stiffle.  When looking at him from behind he impresses you just how deep he is in his rear quarter.  Genetically, look at his genetic indicators; he is in the top of the breed across the board.  His actual performance is equally impressive.  Don't overlook this rascal just because he isn't AI sired.  His Dam  is a very impressive 719T daughter that is going to be a huge asset to our breeding program for years to come.

Here is a younger fall bull that I believe has some potential to be a good one.  His dam was one of our best old cows that always brought a good bull to the sale.  679 ran along side his mother with no special treatment in one of the most brutal winters we have experience the last 20 years.  He is long bodied and thick topped and may be the most strucurally correct bull in the sale.  His dam has sons working for Thornton (UT/MT), Pratt (ID), Keetch (ID) and we have kept a daughter in our herd.

BIG JAKE is a complete young sire prospect that reads favorably across his genetic predictions and physically supports the data with superior muscle and growth.  He is long sided, correct in his skeleton and attractive in his design.  Considering his actual birth weight of 60 lbs and good BW epd combined with good growth predictors BIG JAKE could offer mating versatility on cows or heifers.  His 2 year old dam is a good one but not by accident.  His Grandam 86T, who is the dam of the Universal Semen Sire, Gunner plus the following females 83X, 9A, 151B, 533C and 600 all of which have been kept in our herd.  Here is a bull that needs to be seen in person to truly appreciate his power.  He is 3 days short on his gestation.

Another good bull from the Select Sires bull Comrade.  6100 is among the boldest and deepest in his rib shape, wide pinned and big topped.  Beyond that, he is heavy boned, straight lined and attractive from the profile.  His dam is a very correct uddered cow while being moderate framed and exhibits the same rib design as her son 6100.  We feel this calf has enough genetic potential to move any cow herd in a positive direction. Visually 6123 is complete in regards to muscle, soundness, center body dimension, and balance.  He is wide based, open in his rib shape and is bold and square down his top with very correct testicular development.  He is big footed and correct in his leg structure.  When on the move he is long strided and has escellent movement.  He is very docile and easy to work and be around.  Genetically, he should transmit superior growth and muscle to a set of calves.  His 2 year old dam is a full sister in blood to our great 86T cow and from the looks of her first calf may be every bit as good as her older sister.  Longevity runs deep in this line.  6123's maternal grand dam is 14 years old.  Never missed a year, has a 361 day CI on 12 calves and was one of the first cows in heat again this fall.  Has a weaning ratio of 101 on 12 calves.  Great cow families make great Herd Bulls.

Awesome phenotype!  This 2209 son just keeps getting better everyday.  He was a twin to a heifer and their young 3 year old dam raised both.  We calve these cows in a 200 acre meadow.  48A had both these calves without assistance, kept them together and raised them to weaning.  She weaned 1200 lbs as a 3 year old and settled AI.  She has our biggest bull calf nursing her now.  This is a testiment of how good these 6595 daughters are.  648 has a nice muscle shape, strong top line, is deep in his flank with a clean tight sheath.  He is extremely docile and easy to be around.  Don't over look him, if you keep replacement heifers these are the kind of genetics that get you good ones.   Dam has 1 daughter working in our herd.

HERD BULL!    7 pathfinders in his pedigree.  Dam is a pathfinder cow.

A stylish 9969 son that Phenotypically doesn't have any holes.  BILLY RAY (the bull) is stout, has good bone, and is thick across his top.  He is moderate framed, with tremendous rib shape and muscle expression and comes loaded with performance.  It is no fluke 639 is outstanding.  His Sire, 9969 was the 2nd high seller in 2010 at the legendary Schaff Angus selling for $145,500.  Maternal half brothers to 9969 , Billy Ray's sire, include these great bulls:  SAV Resource 1441 ($110,000), SAV Registry 2821 ($90,000), SAV Renown 3439 (($175,000) & SAV Recharge 3436 ($80,000).  I believe however that it takes Great cow families to produce great bulls!  There is power in the bottom side of BILLY RAY's pedigree.  The 1571 cow is a 14 year old cow that has produce so many good ones for us.  These good old cows have proven themselves in the real world to be around this long.  We recommend using on cows only even though his EPD's indicate otherwise.  They all don't have to be heifer bulls!  Full brother working at Thunder Mountain Ranch (ID)

The Black Granite progeny have proven to be born easily and grow quickly, while being long sided and attractive.  THE ROCK is long spined, heavy quartered and moderate framed.  He has a very nice genetic profile that indicates he could be used on heifers or cows very succesfully.  Keeping quality replacement heifers from him is also highly recommended since his dam is a 6595 X Boyd New Day daughter and he has a 30 milk EPD.  His WW and YW EPD's along with his $W and $F values are breed leading and his $B is way above breed average.  If your mature cow weights have started to creep up here is a bull that will sire top producing females but have moderate frame and keep your mature cow weights in line.

Swagger is a big, heavy muscled bull that should transmit power and performance to a progeny group.  Moreover, he is thick butted deep ribbed and docile.  The only Gunner bull in the sale out of a good young Bismark daughter.  His gentic profile makes him a middle of the road bull that can be used in a commercial cowherd in many ways.  In our opinion he could be used on larger framed heifers with supervision. I believe he would sire excellent replacement females based on his pedigree.  His dam has a picture perfect udder.  Dam has sons working for Carter (ID), daughter at Thunder Mountain (ID)

This outstanding Bruin son is a big, long sided bull that is very deep ribbed, especially in the lower quarter of his body.  619 is one of the most athletic bulls in the sale, a very long striding bull that is wide based and correct in his skeletal structure.  Lot 21 catches the attention of everyone who has come to look at the bulls.  He may be the most attractive bull in the entire Angus pen.  His Epd's may not say heifer bull but his build, tight shoulders and small head, plus past performance from his dam tells me Heifer bull with no problem.   619's power lies in his highly maternal and productive pedigree.   His dam is an own daughter of the great 1571 cow that has done so much for our Angus herd and Sitz Alliance 6595.  Another bull that should be looked at if heifer retention is important to you.     Owned with Bob Monk. Dam has a son working for Milleg (WY).

Heifer bull,  above average CED and Lower than average BW EPD,  Pathfinder dam

6118 has always caught your attention when going out among the calves.  This rugged, thick butted, smooth shouldered and long sided bull always rises to the top as you view the bulls.  He has a tremendously thick top, is very wide based and has meat into his lower quarter.  His genetic profile has him above breed average across the board and his milk EPD is temendous.  Toss into the mix that he is extremelly DOCILE, does he get your ATTENTION yet?  Here is a double duty type bull.  He can be used as a heifer bull or is big enough to go right out with cows.  "If your heifer bull doesn't have performance to go with light birth weights your are wasting a year on your replacements."  I firmly belief that statment.  Coming into the world at 74 lbs and going to a 365 day weight of 1300 again grabs your ATTENTION.  Dam has daughters working for Thunder Mountain (ID) and within our herd.

Talon is built very correct from the ground up and is attractive in his balance from his profile.  He is smooth shouldered, big ribbed, straight lined, square hipped and sound in his movement.  His Sitz Alliance 6595 X Boyd New Day dam is a moderate framed cow with an excellent udder and very good milk flow.  I can't say enough about the 6595 x Boyd New Day females:  grow fast, mature early and keep the mature cow weight in the 1200 to 1400 lb. range.  They are the kind that will keep anyone in the cow business.  Valentino is a long bodied son of Bruin 2209.  He is sound structured, straight lined, and smooth fronted.  His true value is going to be in the replacements he produces.  His highly maternal pedigree is the kind that is going to keep you in business.  His daughters are going to be moderate framed cows that mature in the 1200 # range.  They will be ideal uddered with small teats.  I just described the females in his 3 generation pedigree.  If you have plans on staying in the cattle business here is one to help you out.  Dam has son working for Gibson (ID) and a daughter in our herd.

McCormick is a complete sire prospect that combines muscle, center body dimension and performance.  He is powerful, growth oriented, deep flanked and bold ribbed.  672 is big boned and larger framed leading me to believe he will sire steers that crush the scales on sale day.  This cat should be used as a terminal sire on your cows but unlike most of the terminal breeds being used today here is one that will sire moderate size at birth leading to higher % of live calves.  If you feel your mature cow weight is correct for your environment, then here is a bull that can be used to add power to your calves as they cross the scale on sale day.  His young dam has one daughter we have retained.
